Thanksgiving dessert time! Since I’m sure you all have your favorite pie recipes ready to go, I thought I’d share something a little less traditional but equally as delicious. These Pumpkin Layer Brownies are the perfect Turkey Day twist to the usual chocolate brownie and will have your family scraping every last crumb off the dish. Enjoy!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • boxed brownie mix that you love {I love Ghirardelli’s mixes}

  • 1/2 can pumpkin {not pie filling}

  • 6 oz cream cheese {softened)

  • 1 tbsp pumpkin pie spice

  • 3 tbsp sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

WHAT TO DO

  1. Preheat oven to boxes directions.

  2. Mix brownies according to package directions.

  3. Add chocolate chips to mix and stir well and set brownie batter aside.

  4. With a mixer, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, pumpkin and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.

  5. Grease and lightly flour your baking dish. Pour a evenly spread half of the brownie mix in the pan.

  6. Smooth the entire pumpkin mix over top brownie batter as best you can.

  7. Cover pumpkin layer with remainder of brownie batter.

  8. Bake according to package directions. I added 10 minutes to mine. But be sure to check on them during the cooking process. As long as toothpick comes out clean you’re good.

  9. Let cool. Cut and place on platter and dust with powdered sugar.
