PINK BRIDE RECAP

I had the opportunity to speak at The Pink Bride bridal show this weekend and I wanted to give you guys a little recap of the day.  If you haven't heard of The Pink Bride, it is one of the largest bridal shows in the country and they serve all of the major cities in TN and Birmingham, AL.  There were over 5,000 people in attendance; everyone from brides to bridesmaids, mother's, mother-in-laws, and even a few future grooms.  There was just about every type of wedding vendor you could imagine from venues to florist to tuxedo rental companies.  They had a beautiful bridal fashion show and lots of champagne and cake...lots of cake.  It was so fun to get to see all of these women who were so excited to be embarking on this new chapter in their lives.

THE BOOTH

While I was there primarily as the keynote speaker for their main stage, they gave me the opportunity to have a booth space so that I could meet people.  When I found out that I was getting a booth I called up my friend Mary, who owns Please Be Seated, and we got to work planning a beautiful booth.  I had a really specific vision and knew that I wanted to use her gorgeous boxwood walls as the back drop for my booth.  She also brought in some really gorgeous seating so I could have a chance to sit down and chat with everyone, plus a bar with my logo on it!  I felt a little like Santa Claus waiting for people to come up and talk with me.  I also enlisted one of my favorite florist in town, Flowers by Memma, to help bring my vision to life.  I absolutely adore Memma's work and I had the opportunity to work with her and Mary on a styled Valentine's Day shoot last year, so I was excited to work with her again.  Part of my vision was to have my logo in white roses on the boxwood wall and boy did she deliver.  I just loved how everything turned out.

As a fun little side story, I went to check on the progress of the booth down at the Music City Center on Saturday.  I was driving home down Broadway and you can imagine my surprise when I looked up and say a big picture of my face staring down at me.  That's right, I was on a billboard promoting the show, and not just any billboard but the Nashville board that goes right over Broadway in the West End.  I nearly drove off the road.  I couldn't believe it.  I obviously have never been on a billboard before and I had to pull my car over and call my mom.  It was so exciting and very surreal.

THE TALK

I was the main stage speaker and was so excited to see that the audience was pretty full for my talk.  I was excited because I got to talk about my marriage rules that I shared with you guys last February.  It was really interesting because the audience I was speaking to was definitely a little younger and I wasn't sure how they would respond to my 50's housewife style of marriage and partnership.  I truly believe that there is a reason many of our grandparents marriages lasted so long and those reason are foundational in how I have modeled my own marriage.  I definitely didn't get to hard core on them though and told them that even if they can't, or don't believe in, incorporating all seven of my rules, hopefully their were bits and pieces of my advice that they would be able to take and incorporate into their own new marriages.  The audience was fabulous and so sweet and supportive.

In addition to my time on stage, I was so glad that I got to meet and connect with so many current and hopefully future followers of Living with Landyn.  We were taking photos in my booth and we will be sharing those on Facebook very soon.  I'll be sure to let you know as soon as they do!

WHAT I WORE

You guys know I HAD to sport a Tutu Moi skirt for a bridal show appearance.  I mean could it be any more perfect?  Girls, if you are getting married you have to check them out.  Their long skirts would be absolutely perfect paired with a pretty white top if you were having a more casual wedding.  They would also make a perfect outfit for bridal showers, bridesmaid luncheon's or rehearsal dinners. They also make skirts for little girls, which would be absolutely perfect for a flower girl or junior bridesmaid.  As you can see, I am wearing one of their full length skirts, but they have multiple different lengths and colors.  Here is the best part.  You can get 20% off your entire purchase with the code LANDYN20.

I paired mine with a white halter top and my favorite faux black leather jacket from Target.  Unfortunately neither of those pieces are in stock any more, but I have sourced some great options below to help you guys re-create my look.
