SWIM: ALL ABOUT THE ONE PIECE
Before we start this post, we have to address the elephant in the room. Please, please say you were following along on my Insta-stories while I was in NYC. If you weren't, I will give you the cliff notes version of what happened. I received the pictures back that you are seeing here in this post. I decided to send the shot below to the sweet hubs with a little message that said, Miss you ;). Harmless right? Well, here is where it all went south....I accidentally sent it to all 18 parents on Luke's little league baseball group text!!!! Please insert every emoji possible into this sentence. I realized instantaneously what happened and literally tried EVERY. SINGLE. THING. I could to stop the text from sending as it was processing, but no such luck. To say that I wanted to throw up in my mouth is the understatement of the century. Best part of it all is that I immediately started getting texts back saying, "Aww, miss you too Landyn". I literally wanted to DIE. Let's just say it made the following Monday at the ball fields a little more interesting for everyone. HA!
So here are some life lessons we can all take away from this story. First, run don't walk to your nearest Nordstrom and buy this suit by Becca Swim. I promise that it will make all of you look good! It is so incredibly flattering and masks the problem areas while still being really sexy. Two, make sure when you are sending texts to your husband that it is only your husband you are sending them to. Three, thank God I didn't show or say anything vulgar...it could have been so much worse...and let me tell you it was already pretty bad. So that was my embarrassing life moment that I have now shared with you and all of the Internet. I hope everyone got a huge kick out of it.
Okay, enough of my embarrassing situation. Let's get on with the whole purpose of this post, all things one piece. I have a couple of really fun tropical vacations planned this summer to celebrate my 40th birthday and I have been on the hunt for lots of bathing suits for those trips. So when Nordstrom asked me to share some of my favorite suits, I jumped on the chance to start looking for the perfect one-pieces to take with me. Lucky for me, Nordstrom has almost 400 one-pieces to choose from so really my only problem was narrowing down which ones I wanted. I also noticed while I was searching that they have this cool feature where you can sort the suits based on common body types-small bust, large bust, hour-glass, athletic, pear shaped, and tummy concealing. That might be helpful for you guys when you are trying to narrow down your search for the magical unicorn of suits that will make you look like you are still 20 while still keeping you decent as you chase kids all over the beach.
I feel like one-pieces have come so far in the past couple of years and have gone from dowdy to sex appeal. Which as a mother of two I honestly could not be any happier about. I will still rock a bikini, but honestly I feel my most comfortable and confident in a well-cut one-piece. I think that one-pieces are so sexy because they leave a little something to the imagine. They are classic and elegant, while still providing that va-va-va-voom I like in a suit. I love that they camouflage problem areas so well, are easy to move around in and are very comfortable. I typically stick with black bathing suits, but I do love a pretty white suit if you have a good tan. Just make sure that they are lined!!! As you can see from the suits I chose, I am really into the cut-outs and lace-overlays that are so popular right now. Again, it is all about giving that sex appeal while still leaving a little something to the imagination.
I went ahead and sourced all of my favorite suits from Nordstrom and I am going to break them down by color here below. Hopefully that will take some of the work out of it for you guys and you will find that suit that makes you feel beautiful and sexy! Get it mama's.
