Alright ladies, it is time for the third and final installment of the Living with Landyn Live recap.  I am sorry that it has taken me a month to get all of these recapped, but I just wanted to make sure I had all the details and could share all of the fun we had together.  This one is going to be a good one because today we are going to take a look at what all we actually talked about throughout the day.  Even better is, you are going to get to catch some snippets of segments that were captured by my videographer Anne Claire and the production company, Macro Productions, who did all the camera work and audio for the event.  I can't tell you how much I learned about what all goes into an event like this that I literally had never thought of before.  I had no idea how cameras and capturing the segments and having screens so everyone could see all the details that were happening on stage really worked.  It truly was amazing to see behind the scenes how that all comes together.

In some ways talking for 10 plus hours was both easier and harder than I thought it would be.  The filling the time was actually the easier part, but the keeping the time was a little trickier than I anticipated.  I had Julia camping out at the base of the stage during the afternoon to kind of help me with timing.  I know that was super distracting and will definitely be something that we will work on in future shows.  You guys were so sweet and understanding though.  It is hard because I never want it to feel too polished and staged.  I want it to feel like one really (really) long Insta-story, but I also want to make sure the audience is having the best experience possible.  Thank you guys for being my guinea pigs at this first show and letting me learn as I go.  I appreciate you all more than you will ever know.

So what all did we talk about?  Basically all the things.  The agenda covered everything from health and fitness, cooking, make up and hair, interiors, relationships, fashion and tons of interactive segments.  My absolute favorite parts were when I got to interact with all the attendees and bring them on stage with me.  Whether that was through an on-stage styling segment, a fashion show, being a beauty or hair model or just sharing your story I absolutely loved getting to spend that time with attendees.

We started the day off with Amzie, the owner of Shed, and Virginia, everyone's favorite health guru.  Amzie was able to share the training philosophy behind Shed and demonstrate some sample work-outs that I do there.  He also may or may not have had a competition with two audience members that involved burpees and running around a baseball bat.  Just saying.  After Amzie worked us all out, Virginia got to come on and share her knowledge with us about how to fuel your body for not only working out, but for living your best life.  She really is so talented and I loved having her there.  Several people commented that they could have just listened to her share her knowledge and philosophy all day, and I couldn't agree more.

After the health and fitness section, we went into the cooking segement.  Funny story, remember how I mentioned that timing was one of the hardest parts of the whole thing for me.  Well I accidentally forgot to dismiss everyone for the morning bathroom break and went straight into cooking.  Next thing I know, I could feel Julia hovering behind me and it turns out they needed the bathroom break to get all my ingredients for cooking set-up and I was about to cook without my ingredients.  As I said, we are still learning over here. HA! Once we got everything all situated, I was able to share all of my cooking tips and must haves and make the Pizza Kabob recipe that I shared yesterday.  I also got to share one of my favorite vendors, Instacart with everyone and give attendees a FREE month so they could all try it out too.

After we had our delicious lunch we were back at it for more fun in the afternoon.  This is when we got into the fun stuff...fashion and beauty.  We had an awesome Style Ambush segment that was sponsored by Vici.  We were able to select an audience member in the morning and she got a head-to-toe makeover courtesy of Vici, the girls from Living Proof, and Melissa from Parlour 3.  I then had the audience ask me questions about their fashion dilemmas and I pulled them on stage and styled them.  It was so awesome! The best part was that Sandra, one of the owners of Vici, surprised all of us and ended up giving away all the clothes that we had on the stage for the segment.

Next up came Melissa and Oxana from Parlour 3 to share all of their beauty and hair tips.  It was so fun to have them there.  The best part was that they needed a beauty model to perform make-up on and unbeknownst to me a very special reader, Elee, was picked.  It was so fun to have her there with her mom and I loved being able to bring them both up on stage and share their family's story.  Melissa did an amazing job sharing all of her tips and trick and favorite products and demonstrating them on Elee.  If you guys didn't know, Melissa has been Carrie Underwood's make-up artist for many, many years, so you know she knows exactly what she is talking about.  After Melissa, my girl Oxana got on stage and killed it.  It was so fun to hear about her having the courage to live her dream, plus she shared some of her secrets on how she cuts and colors my hair.  The best part was she gave everyone a live demonstration on how to get my beachy waves.  It was a big hit.

After Oxana, we weren't done talking about hair yet because we had the fabulous team from Living Proof on-stage do do a talk about their products and do a ton of product demos.  They also did probably one of the coolest things I have ever seen called the cornstarch test.  As you know, I am a HUGE fan of their dry shampoo and if this cornstarch demo doesn't sell you on it then I don't know what is.  Basically what they did was take a two wigs made from human hair that they treated with the exact same types of products.  The only difference was one of the wigs they used only Living Proof's products and the other wig used only competitors products.  They then proceeded to dump an entire container of cornstarch on each wig.  After the wig's were completely covered in cornstarch they started shaking them off.  Y'all I am not lying when I say that the Living Proof wig came completely clean and the hair returned to normal, while the other wig literally looked like they had stuck it in a container of flour.  It was so amazing.  If you are not using their dry shampoo right now, go order some RIGHT NOW.  Another fun part of having Living Proof as the presenting sponsor is that they brought three of their stylists with them and they literally styled hair for attendees the entire day.  I am not kidding when I say that there was a line at least 45 minutes long throughout the entire day.  People absolutely loved having them there and I was so grateful that they were willing to take a chance on me.

After we learned how to make ourselves pretty we moved into interiors with my dear friend Lori Paranjape.  Lori is so incredibly talented and absolutely hilarious and I was so grateful she was willing to share her knowledge with all of us.  All of the living room furniture on the stage was donated by Redo Home and Design and Lori and her fabulous assistant Kate designed and styled the space for us.  Lori and I then got to have the most fun showing how you could style the space for less with items from HomeGoods.  It really brought home the importance of spending your money on investment pieces like sofas, a good rug, and furniture and save money on your accessories.  We literally had a cart full of goodies from HomeGoods that we wheeled out onto the stage and put all the finishing touches on the space.  She also talked about the importance of practical home design and focusing on function before form.  When she works with a client she really works to understand how her clients live in a space before she thinks one second about the actual design of the space.  So, so smart.

We finished the day with me up on the stage all by my lonesome talking about relationships.  It was so amazing to be able to share my thoughts on this with everyone because it truly is the subject I am most passionate about.  It was made extra special because my mom and my grandma were able to be there.  As you guys know my grandma was and is such a huge influence in my life and has really shaped how I think about my relationship to Steve in such a positive way.  I also was able to share a little bit of my mom's and my story that I haven't really talked much about publicly.  My mom made the brave decision when I was really young to walk away from a bad relationship.  For many years it was just the two of us, until she met my fabulous stepdad Kevin when I was 12 years old.  He has been the best father and has never treated me as anything less than his own daughter and for that I am forever grateful.  He was there as well and of course everyone's favorite Mister and Steve's mom Sandy was there too.  It was just really great to be able to share my heart with everyone and get to have both of our families and my children there to hear it.  Very, very special.

So there you have it.  That was our day.  It was the most exhilarating and fulfilling thing I have ever done, but also the most draining.  It has really taken me a long time to recover from the event...and get feeling back in my toes after 15 hours in high heels.  Beauty is pain.  I am excited to see what the next event holds.  Thank you again for sharing this journey with me. I promise, no more recap posts!
