NASHVILLE ANTIQUES AND GARDEN SHOW

FEBRUARY 3-5, 2017

If you guys follow me on Instagram, you may remember me having a complete freak-out a couple of weeks ago about getting asked to cover and promote the Antiques and Garden Show here in Nashville.  I am so honored and excited to attend the show and get to interview one of the designers that is speaking on the various panels that our held throughout the weekend. If you don't know about the Antiques and Garden Show, it is the largest and longest running antique and garden show in the country.  This year it is being held February 3-5 at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville.  Here is the cool thing, this show is 100% volunteer-led and managed and has raised over $7 million for Cheekwood and the Economic Club of Nashville.  How cool is that?!?

THE DETAILS

So now on to all the amazing details.  To say that I am absolutely JAZZED about all the amazing speakers, dealers, and events that they have going on during the weekend doesn't even begin to cover it.  The weekend is jam packed with both parties and lectures.  You can find a full schedule of events here, as well as ticket prices , but I wanted to share a couple of the things that I am most excited about.  Let's start with the most obvious....NATE BERKUS!  That is right people, Nate Berkus will be here in our very own Nashville for the weekend.  I have literally been obsessed with Nate since he was first introduced to the world by Oprah way back when.  He is the keynote speaker for the event and you can buy a ticket for $75 to come to the show and hear him speak.  As I mentioned, I have the opportunity to interview one of the many talented designers who are speaking on the various panels through out the weekend, and to say that I am crossing my fingers and toes hoping I get assigned to Nate would be the understatement of the century!!!

THE SPEAKERS

Along with my new BFF Nate, the show this year is honoring Gil Schaefer who is like the father of contemporary classical residential design.  He is being honored at the show's Preview Party that takes place on Thursday night.  Mary MacDonald from Bravo's MillionDollar Decorators will be on one of the panels and there will be a lecture by Brooke and Steve Giannetti from Patina Farm.  I am really excited about that one!  Brooke and Steve's home and garden is absolutely gorgeous and I know they will give an amazing lecture.  One last thing that I wanted to mention is that if you are a bourbon drinker, then Friday night is the night for you.  The Antiques and Garden Show always hosts a really popular bourbon and whiskey tasting party that allows you to sip and sample different bourbons and munch on some BBQ all while enjoying the displays and vendors that the show has to offer.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Bottom line is, if interiors or gardens is even remotely your jam, then you better head down to the Music City Center next weekend.  There will be garden designs to tour from some of the top landscape designers in the country, including Cheekwood's Patrick Larkin, Troy Rhone, Phillipe Chadwick and many more.  There will also be over 150 different antique and garden dealers from around the world that you will be able to browse through.  If you buy your tickets before January 29th, the price for general admission is only $20!  If you are an out-of-town guest, the show has a great page for planning your trip that includes local hotel partners, recommended restaurants, directions and more.  So be sure to check it out!  Who knows, we might even run in to each other at the show!
