HEY LANDYN, I'VE GOT A QUESTION...
It's been a busy week getting ready for my Halloween party, did you happen to see my Instastories from Saturday night? We had a BLAST to say the least. It's not a party till someone goes swimming at 2am. HA! I love our friends. Today's the day and my kids are so excited and can't wait to eat all the CANDY! I am too. What's your fave? I'm a Mr. Goodbar lover. Oh and who doesn't love a mini Snickers. Leading up to Halloween I try to buy what I hate, otherwise...well, it's a binge fest! I have no self control when it comes to mini candy bars. What do I think, if it's mini, then the calories don't count?! Honestly, I probably end up eating more. Alright, let's get to those questions of yours.
TELL ME ABOUT YOUR LASHES?
Back in April I pulled the trigger and made an appointment to get lash extensions. It was something that I REALLY wanted to try, but wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money or be slave to filling them every 4 weeks. How would they feel on? Would they drive me crazy? Would I always look made up or like a drag queen? Did I have the time? Then one day I ran into my friend Mary at Starbucks, looking so pulled together and bright-eyed. I said, 'Can we talk about your lashes?' They looked so REAL, I was afraid to ask, but guess what, they aren't hers. They were extensions and damn good ones. Next question, 'WHERE DO YOU GO?' Oh, girl.....the only place to go......... LASH. And I'd listen to Mary, she's a businesswoman, owner of Nashville's luxury rental company, Please Be Seated + mother of two + wife and just plain kick-ass awesome! She ain't got time for something that don't work!
The answer to your question....... I LOVE THEM. WILL NEVER NOT HAVE THEM. I'M ADDICTED. I'm honestly afraid to be without them. I'm OBSESSED. Like seriously. I normally see Suzanne, she's amazing and I enjoy having that hour with here every 3-4 weeks. She's become a good friend. Then in August, she went on maternity leave and I was like what will I do without you??!?! But she assured me that all the girls at LASH are great at what they do. Amy, the owner, wouldn't hire anyone one that wasn't and that's why LASH remains and IS the ONLY place to get your lashes done in Nashville. I've actually had the pleasure of laying on every artists' massage table over the past 7 months. Yes, they're all GOOD.
I wear classic lashes with volume and I believe the lash size is 12, 13. They are light weight. As a matter of fact I don't even know I have them on. There are only two things lashes don't like.... OIL + STEAM. Which really means, use oil-free makeup remover and limit your hot steamy showers. I make sure the day I get them filled, that I shower and have clean hair. Sounds silly, but I don't get them wet, wash my face or shower for two days after. That allows the glue to really set in and I've had great results and minimal shedding doing this. Otherwise I just live my life and bat those eyes. I say give them a try, and if you're in Nashville, give LASH a call. If you live elsewhere, do your research. Often times you get what you pay for. So be sure to choose a reputable studio.
Here are MAIN REASONS I can't live without them.
NO MASCARA.
ALWAYS LOOK LIKE I HAVE EYE MAKEUP ON.
LOOK AWAKE, EVEN WHEN I'M DEAD TIRED.
I FEEL PRETTY.
WHAT STYLE OF COAT DO YOU WEAR?
Even though it's still so unseasonably warm EVERYWHERE, this may be the last thing we are thinking about. Although, I have a feeling it's going to go from humidity to hypothermia real quick. And from the sounds of it, you guys want to be ready. My go-to and favorite coat of all time and the one I'm still rockin' is a black Betsy Johnson Fit & Flare style coat I got 6 years ago at Macy's.
Here's why I like it:
First of all.....your coat should never be an afterthought. For a few months out of the year you actually spend a good bit of time wearing it, especially if you live up north. I learned this from my years spent in Minnesota. It taught me to buy a coat that I loved, because I'd be living in it. I love a fit and flare coat. Gives you that cinched waist and an A-line skirt, which is a look in and of itself. You still look styled while trekking across town. Perfect for days and nights, this is my/your go-to piece. And she's still going strong. It fits like a glove + gives you that feminine silhouette. SO flattering and truly is an outfit in itself. Hence why I quietly live for this style. I searched high and low for the exact jacket with no luck, (waaaaaaaaaaa) but I did find her twin sister and a few cousins.
WHAT CROCKPOT DO YOU HAVE?
Good question. I know I've talked about this guy before, and you'll hear me continue to go on and on about it. This crockpot is pretty much my life line starting in October, right on through February. All slow cookers are like magic tricks and make us look like ROCKSTARS come 5 o'clock. This All-Clad 7qt one ROCKS. Here's what I especially love about this one. The REMOVABLE cast Aluminum insert. That's the real seller here. It allows you to sear meats on your cooktop first + saves messing more pans. The last thing I need are more dishes. You can't do this with a ceramic insert. I've owned this particular one for about 4 years now and she's never failed me. If you're in the market for one, this one is it. And if you look to me for recipe ideas, I can guarantee this slow cooker will be used more nights than not. *Bonus* It's ON SALE now! PLUS...... TODAY ONLY take an ADDITIONAL 20% OFF + FREE SHIPPING with code SPOOKY at checkout! I mean, do you need another reason?!??!
